Adjudication

Adjudication means that a decision by an international court, arbitration or other in-ternational process, takes effect in a dispute between two countries.

Recently, the term ‘Adjudication’ has also been applied to mean settlement of dis-putes in a process in which one or more Adjudicators are appointed to the project by the parties – or for a particular case. This is achieved so as to make decisions on a provisional or abbreviated basis, becoming binding after the time fixed unless subse-quent court proceedings or review by an arbitration court are started. Adjudication is practised particularly in international Construction and Plant Construction Law.
